How to count time when using IXP2400?

I am using IXP2400 to develop a firewall network. I want to count time duration from one happening event to another. Please show me how to do it! In the other microprocessors, there are timer for this function. I wonder if there is any thing like this in IXP2400?

Thank you very much for your concern and help!

I have found that there are 4 timers in IXP2400 and there are also control registers similar to other processors. But until now I don't know how to read/write data to these registers! If someone know, please help me! Thanks alot!

I found that there are details of using this timer on the "IXP2400_IXP2800_PRM.pdf" included on the software. Thanks for your concerns!
