sir why the processors cores are power of 2 like.2,4,8,16.is there any reason for that

Hi,
Not all CPUs have a core count that is a power of two. For example, the current line of Intel Xeon 56xx processors have 6 cores per die. Other processors have a core count of 12 on the chip. You could even think of a CPU that has an odd number of cores, e.g. 7.

And some of the AMD chips have 3 cores.
