Hi everyone,
I'm planning to install an Intel Optane Memory - M.2 (2280 / PCIe NVMe) - M10 Series 16GB - MEMPEK1J016GAL.
My desktop PC has the following specifications:
- RAM: 16GB DDR4, 3200MHz
- Processor: Intel Core I3 10100F 3.60GHz (4.30GHz Turbo), 10th Generation, 4 Cores 8 Threads, LGA 1200, no Video
- Motherboard: MSI B560M-A PRO, Chipset B560, Intel LGA 1200, M-ATX, DDR4
I will install a Kingston NV2 SSD, 1TB, M.2 NVMe, 2280, Read 3500MBs and Write 2100MBs, SNV2S/1000G in the M.2 slot of this motherboard.
My question is:
Is it compatible to install an Intel Optane Memory using an SSD M2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 adapter in my available PCIe x1 4.0 slot on the motherboard? If it is compatible, will I gain performance and faster loading times by installing the Optane or will the efficiency of just the SSD above be greater than Optane?
Thank you in advance for your help!
Additional information:
- The adapter I'm considering is the M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 x1 Adapter: [https://www.amazon.com/ELUTENG-Adapter-Expansion-Aluminum-Heatsink/dp/B0CN998KS9/ref=sr_1_3?crid=11URWOG8UI8F5&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.aIBBWdz7PpDFHK04RmVAH3GYuUKTpQNrCLlZtFEZHOAP0uFafEwmRPDBDI6fY5L8hz8R0FYWDyGOK8aH2yCuc4PXqo2FR-RwgR2Z7hkESkqTC--T9GSCRZ8AGlvd7kwqJDcX4bvTsl131aATXA610XbzWxhTVbZphOUR0gDQjcv6vKIA6KqDUb2M6BSTlTT7Ps2RDTiCMdQBA9UUEkdsV5pInLqB3S...].
- I'm running Windows 10 64-bit, will it be possible to upgrade to Windows 11 and use Optane?
