Is upgrading to 32Gb Optane as simple as removing and replacing?

I've decided to upgrade to a 32Gb Optane from my present 16Gb unit. Is it as simple as removing the 16Gb unit and installing the 32Gb unit or is there something else required to accomplish this? My system is working as advertised and all required software is installed.

Thanks!

John

Hello JohnfromNH,

We understand you would like to upgrade to the Intel® Optane™ Memory 32GB.

First of all, the process is very simple, but it is not only like remove and place the new one, we would like to explain to you this properly:

-First, you need to open the Intel® Optane™ Memory software and click disable, this will de-concatenate the memory from the HDD.

-You need to restart the system and then open the Intel® Optane™ Memory software to view the status.

-Install your new Intel® Optane™ Memory module and power on the system

-Open Intel® Optane™ Memory software and click enable.

-Restart the computer

-Intel® Optane™ Memory should be working fine again.

We are attaching pictures of what you should see as we did it also step by step.

In case you have issues or something fails, please let us know and share screenshots so we can better assist you.

Regards,
