Was the Optane software pulled due to a bug we should know about?

Jump to solution

I was checking to see if there were any new updates today and I noticed that the current Optane software package is missing:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/99745/Intel-Optane-Memory

I tried to link in from an alternate source here:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000024385/memory-and-storage.html

And that link is now a dead end.

Older versions are still available so I am wondering if there is a compelling reason to use one of the older versions until a new build is released.

Hello BHarr8,

Thank you for contacting Intel® Memory & Storage Support.

As we understand, you need assistance with the Intel® Optane™ Memory Software. If we infer correctly we will appreciate if you can review the following information:

•   You can download the “SetupOptaneMemory.exe” installer in the following link:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28966/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-User-Interf...

On this link, you can find the necessary and latest software to accelerate your system using the Intel® Optane™ memory modules

•   Which file to choose?

-SetupOptaneMemory.exe

Specifically designed and optimized to support system acceleration with Intel® Optane™ memory modules

-SetupRST.exe

Supports system acceleration with Intel® Optane™ memory in addition to advanced features such as management of RAID 0/1/5/10 volumes.

-f6flpy-x64.zip (64-bit Operating System) / f6flpy-x86.zip (32bit Operating System):

Standalone Intel® RST Drivers with Intel® Optane™ memory support

May be required during Operating System (OS) installation to detect PCIe* NVMe* drive, refer to system manufacturer documentation or Intel Customer Support

-Note

•   Only one of the Setup (SetupRST.exe or SetupOptaneMemory.exe) applications can be installed on a system at a time. Choose the application that makes the most sense for your intended usage and configuration.

•   The Intel® RST driver SetupRST.exe supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. The driver should be installed after the operating system has been installed. F6 and RAID BIOS configurations need to be performed before the installation of this driver for proper operation. This driver supports NVMe devices.

If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us back.

Have a nice day.

Best regards,

Not really a case, was just wondering if the download was pulled. Seems it was just moved to the RST page and a few orphaned links now point to nothing.
