I have an issue with 3 computers Dell XPS 8920 windows 10 x64, latest bios according to the Dell update app. i have intel 16gb optane chips, but receive this error when i try to enable the optane on my spinning disk.

(0xA0050055): An unknown error occurred while an operation was in progress. The operation coul dnot be completed.

i've been trying for months, with several bios versions upgraded. when i first started, the system wouldn't even see the optane chip, until i ran a bios update.

i have Intel RST 16.8.0.1000

i've enabled optane on XPS 8930, inspiron 3670, but having trouble with XPS 8920s.

Hello @PLux0

  1. What is the version of your Windows 10?
  2. What is the partition type (MBR or GPT) on the HDD, you want to accelerate wit Optane?
  3. Did you leaved at least 5 MB unallocated space in the end of HDD?
  4. Is your Bios set to UEFI?
  5. Is your Bios updated? https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=m4ymr
  6. Did you disabled Legacy Option ROMS in the BIOS?
  7. Did you installed Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) Driver? https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER04311643M/5/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Driver-and-Management_WTY4T_WIN_15.5.2.1054_A00.EXE . Always install the driver released by OEM rather driver from Intel site. In your case it is version 15.5.2.1054.
  8. Did you installed Management Console User interface ? https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER04675078M/3/Intel-Management-Engine-Interface-Driver_RCGJ3_WIN_11.7.0.1054_A03.EXE
  9. Did you installed Chipset Device Software ? https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER04001557M/8/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software_HMDR4_WIN_10.1.1.38_A05_06.EXE
  10. Please follow the instructions in the following guide: https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln306433/how-to-install-an-intel-optane-m-2-nvme-accelerator-into-your-existing-dell-optiplex-inspiron-precision-alienware-system?lang=en
