Which value should I check for endurance limitation?

How to calcurate total GB written to NVMe device using each value ?

e.g. NAND bytes_written/32

NVMe:DC P3700 U.2 800GB

OS:Ubuntu 16.04

Tool:NVMe-cli

Command:

1,#nvme smart-log /dev/nvme0 > data unit value

2,#nvme intel smart-log-add /dev/nvme0 > NAND bytes_written/HOST bytes_written.

Hi Taroijapanista,

Thank you for posting in the Intel® communities.

Considering that you would like to monitor the drive status I recommend you to use the Intel® SSD Data Center Tool (DCT) which is compatible with Ubuntu systems: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28286/Intel-SSD-Data-Center-Tool-Intel-SSD-DCT-?product=87278

This tool allows you to monitor the drive status, including SMART details, Host writes, NAND writes, etc. This tool even includes a feature called Endurance Analyzer which calculates the life expectancy of the drive based on the workload.

Besides, this tool is used to update the firmware version of the drive in case there is a newer version available.

Please check the following User Guide that explains how you can use the tool to get the drive status: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/memory-and-storage/Intel_SSD_DCT_3_0_x_User_Guide.pdf

If there is anything else I can help you with, or if you have any doubt about the Intel® SSD DCT, feel free to ask.

Have a nice day.
