Hi Gustav_B,
We understand your concern regarding the NVMe* driver for the Intel® Optane™ SSD 900P.
We would like to let you know that Windows(R) 10 has an inbox NVMe* driver that you can use in order to boot from the Intel® Optane™ SSD 900P and install Windows*. However, We strongly recommend you to install the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27231/NVMe-Drivers-for-Intel-Optane-SSD-900P-Series NVMe* driver for the SSD once the operating system is installed in order to avoid issues.

Hi Gustav_B,
Thanks for the reply.
What we refer is in order to avoid performance issues regarding the SSD.

Thanks. I'm a bit confused when checking the Intel 900P Driver download page at:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/123625/Intel-Optane-SSD-900P-Series Downloads for Intel® Optane™ SSD 900P Series
Two versions are listed:
Client NVMe* Microsoft Windows* Drivers for Intel® SSDs Version: 2.0.0.1024 (Latest) Date: 10/10/2017
and
Client NVMe* Microsoft Windows* Drivers for Intel® SSDs Version: 3.2.0.1002 (Previously Released) Date: 12/12/2017
The dates and version would indicate that the 3.2.0 version is current, but that versions page has this header
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27231/Client-NVMe-Microsoft-Windows-Drivers-for-Intel-SSDs?v=t A newer version of this software is available. Click here to get the latest version of this software.
which links back to the 2.0.0 version.
Could you clarify.
Thanks for your help
Hi Gustav_B,
Thanks for the reply.
We would like to let you know that the Intel® Optane™ SSD 900P has its own NVMe* driver that is https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27231/NVMe-Drivers-for-Intel-Optane-SSD-900P-Series 2.0.0.1024 and that is the specific one you need to download for your SSD.
The driver https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27396/Client-NVMe-Microsoft-Windows-Drivers-for-Intel-SSDs?product=35125 3.2.0.1002 is for the rest of the SSDs models and it does not work with the Intel® Optane™ SSD 900P.
We already reported the issue with the website to the proper team

Junior M.
They changed the website, and it now indicates that the 3.2.0 driver is the latest for the 900P.

This download is valid for the product(s) listed below.
Intel® SSD 750 Series (400GB, 1/2 Height PCIe 3.0, 20nm, MLC)

Intel® Optane™ SSD 900P Series (280GB, 2.5in PCIe x4, 20nm, 3D XPoint™)

I did install the driver using the .exe installer, and all seems OK, with an Intel Optane SSD 900P Series Storage Controller showing in Windows Device Manager.
Hi Gustav_B,

I hope there's a solution in the environment for this Windows Install error message. I don't want to think I spent $360 for an Intel 900P drive that can only be used as a data disk I could have gotten for $50. The HHHL NVMe drive didn't have this problem. Please let me know what I can do with this before I request a refund from Newegg.
