SSD Data Center Tool 3.0.19 cannot show P4800X installed in ESX6.0.0 10719132

We have 4 INTEL® OPTANE™ SSD DC P4800X SERIES

directly plugged into a ESX6.0.0 10719132.

 

By following the P4800X installation guideline,

we installed the SSD Data Center Tool 3.0.19 in ESX

and run ./isdct show -intelssd, but it cannot display any P4800X device but only No results.

 

So, is Data Center Tool still unable to support Intel products in ESX?

If yes, why you still told us to use isdct in ESX??

 

Moreover, how can I update P4800X firmware if your Data Center Tool cannot function in ESX???

 

Please kindly advise.

In the past, it was true, some versions of Intel® SSD DCT (3.0.7 or earlier) weren’t able to support other earlier versions of ESX. In addition to this, please confirm if your Intel® Optane™ SSD DC P4800X Series drives are connected direct to the motherboard; otherwise, it might not be seen by Intel® SSD DCT.

 

There are no previous reports about any issues or problems on Intel® SSD DCT for VMware ESX6.0.0 10719132; current download of Intel® SSD DCT for VMware confirms it’s available for Intel® Optane™ SSD DC P4800X Series, please download the latest release notes by following this link: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/28639/eng/Intel_SSD_Data_Center_Tool_3_0_19_Release_Notes.pdf

 

Even VMware has confirmed its compatibility is verified with Intel® Optane™ SSD DC P4800X Series on the following link: https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=ssd&details=1&vsan_type=vsanssd&ssd_partner=46&vsanrncomp=true&page=1&display_interval=500&sortColumn=Partner&sortOrder=Asc&bookmark=1 please check if the installed release on your system is the supported release, as per VMware’s recommendation for the actual drives installed.
