Hi, ive been experiencing a problem with displaying characters on the vga screen. I have a character rom file (came with UP2 board) but i cant get it to work in quartus, it works fine in Max plus but problem is that Max plus doesnt have support for Cyclone II FPGAs family. so whenever i try to use the file in a Quartus project, i get error messages (dont have the message now) but the problem is with conversion somewhere in the file.
Im using Cyclone II development board DE1 and i bought it brand new bt i didnt get any character generation files. please help me out. ive attached the files needed for you to check, please make it compatible with quartus? or give me whatever files you guys have to generate characters on the vga monitor.
i think this line...
rom_mux_output <= rom_data ( (CONV_INTEGER(NOT font_col(2 DOWNTO 0))));
is the one with problems. i just want to read data from the tcgrom.mif
