I'm seeing crashes and freezes of Quartus, when I close the "In-System Memory content editor" while continuous acquisition is running for a memory instance.
I have reproduced this with a DE2-115 and a DE0-nano on Quartus II 12.1 and 12.0sp2 on Linux 64bit, Windows XP 32bit and Windows 7 64bit on different computers, but the Altera Support fails to reproduce the issue. Can anyone try to reproduce my issue, ideally with one of the boards I used and then with a board using a stand-alone non-Terasic blaster (which I do not have). I have attached projects for the DE2-115 and the DE0-nano, which just implement a single port ram and expose it through the ISMCE. Just compile it and program the FPGA with it. Then do the following steps after closing Quartus, with the FPGA already programmed: 1. Start Quartus 2. Don't load a project 3. Start the ISMCE 4. Select the blaster from the drop down list 4a. the ISMCE automatically scans for memory instances 5. Select the test instance 6. run continuous acquisition 7. close the ISMCE window repeat 3-7 until Quartus crashes On Windows I have seen real crashes with various error messages, on Linux Quartus just freezes and has to be killed externally. This normally happens around the third time doing the loop (usually at steps 3 or 7), might be earlier or a bit later, but I never had to go through the loop more than ten times to trigger the bug.Link Copied
