Hi folks,
I installed Quartus II v12.1 a couple weeks ago for a college course I'm taking and it worked fine until last night. Now whenever I try to add a symbol in the schematic capture tool by either clicking the "Symbol Tool" button or double-clicking the canvas, I get a stack overflow as listed below. I was half-way through a design. I had previously compiled it successfully and simulated it with the Altera University Program Simulator. Then when I went to add something to the design, I started getting the error. Today I deleted my entire design directory / files and started from scratch, but I still get the same thing and I have no clue as to why. I'm running on Windows 7. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! *** Fatal Error: Stack Overflow Module: quartus.exe Stack Trace: 0xa5410: SHBindToFolderIDListParentEx + 0x6cc (SHELL32) 0xa5474: SHBindToFolderIDListParentEx + 0x730 (SHELL32) 0xa3d90: ILFindLastID + 0xfb4 (SHELL32) 0xa3ccb: ILFindLastID + 0xeef (SHELL32) 0xa44cb: ILFindLastID + 0x16ef (SHELL32) 0xa37bf: ILFindLastID + 0x9e3 (SHELL32) 0xa35ec: ILFindLastID + 0x810 (SHELL32) 0xa59e0: Ordinal862 + 0x27f (SHELL32) 0xa47de: ILCloneFirst + 0x146 (SHELL32) 0xa48da: ILCloneFirst + 0x242 (SHELL32) 0xa2b27: SHGetIDListFromObject + 0x140 (SHELL32) 0xa2c78: SHBindToObject + 0x5e (SHELL32) 0xa4db3: SHBindToFolderIDListParentEx + 0x6f (SHELL32) 0x8b0ed: SHBindToParent + 0x19 (SHELL32) 0x171b4: DllGetClassObject + 0x13356 (SearchFolder) 0x31290: DllGetClassObject + 0x2d432 (SearchFolder) 0x118b9f: SHGetFolderPathA + 0x135b (SHELL32) 0x119046: SHGetFolderPathA + 0x1802 (SHELL32) 0x118f18: SHGetFolderPathA + 0x16d4 (SHELL32) 0x118f35: SHGetFolderPathA + 0x16f1 (SHELL32) 0x118f35: SHGetFolderPathA + 0x16f1 (SHELL32) 0x118f35: SHGetFolderPathA + 0x16f1 (SHELL32) 0x131573: ReadCabinetState + 0x4c7a (SHELL32) 0x183b89: Ordinal823 + 0x530 (SHELL32) 0x118ac6: SHGetFolderPathA + 0x1282 (SHELL32) 0x183bd5: Ordinal823 + 0x57c (SHELL32) 0x183bb1: Ordinal823 + 0x558 (SHELL32) 0xa47de: ILCloneFirst + 0x146 (SHELL32) 0xa48da: ILCloneFirst + 0x242 (SHELL32) 0xa2b27: SHGetIDListFromObject + 0x140 (SHELL32) 0xa2c78: SHBindToObject + 0x5e (SHELL32) 0xa4db3: SHBindToFolderIDListParentEx + 0x6f (SHELL32) 0x5d431: PathIsExe + 0x129c (SHELL32) 0x5d3e7: PathIsExe + 0x1252 (SHELL32) 0x5ea04: PathIsExe + 0x286f (SHELL32) 0x5eb24: ILLoadFromStreamEx + 0xd7 (SHELL32) 0x5e569: PathIsExe + 0x23d4 (SHELL32) 0x1c9ff: SHAlloc + 0x243a (SHELL32) 0x1c96e: SHAlloc + 0x23a9 (SHELL32) 0xc2720: QFSFileEngine::currentPath + 0x3e0 (QtCore4) 0x9c38: _ftol2 + 0x97 (msvcrt) 0x9cdd: _ftol2 + 0x13c (msvcrt) 0x20569: SHGetSpecialFolderPathW + 0x151 (SHELL32) 0x2001f: GEN_PB_IMPL::path + 0x1af (CCL_GEN) 0x20064: ___onexitbegin + 0xffffffff (CCL_FIO) End-trace Quartus II 32-bit Version 12.1 Build 177 11/07/2012 SJ Web Edition [update: I was able to create a new project in a differently-named directory (i.e., had to completely re-enter the circuit) and everything worked fine until I ran some simulations using the Altera U.P. Simulator. After a test simulation, I tried to add another component to correct a deficiency in the design. Now the new project is giving the stack overflow again.] [update: It seems that the issue is caused by some sort of interaction between the Altera University Program Simulator and Quartus. I changed my project directory name again and so far, if I always exit the Altera U.P. Simulator before making changes to the design in Quartus, then I avoid having my project get corrupted.]コピーされたリンク
