Floating License Retrieval

I am going through strange thing with my Quartus II setup - On one PC I am unable to access a floating license whereas from another PC I am. I am using the same version of Quartus II software on both the PCs- 9.1 sp2. And I know there are enough licenses. Additionally, I can even ping the license server from the PC on which Quartus is not able to retrieve the license.

I already tried following -

1. Uninstall, cleaned out the registry, rebooted the PC and then installed Quartus II 9.1 sp2.

2. Also installed Quartus II 10.0

Any ideas on how I can correct this problem?

try the LM licensing utilities. in a command prompt try:

lmutil lmstat -a -c <port@server>

see if you can connect this way. have you tried setting the server directly in Quartus and also with the LM_LICENSE_FILE environment variable?

Thanks for this tip. It showed the problem. Apparently, the port number in the license variable has gotten screwed up.

Thanks again.
