I'm working with a development board that features an Intel Stratix 10 GX 2800 FPGA.
For power management, I am using a Renesas ISL681XX series PMIC, and the FPGA needs to communicate with it using SmartVID.
My immediate goal is to verify the conversion efficiency and functionality of the power management chip at various voltage levels. To do this, I need to be able to control the output voltage of the PMIC.
Could anyone advise on how I can use the FPGA to control the SmartVID output to set specific voltages? I understand that SmartVID is typically used for the FPGA to automatically communicate its optimal voltage to the PMIC. However, for my testing and validation purposes, I need to manually override this and command the ISL681XX to output different voltages.
What is the recommended method to achieve this? Is it through sending specific PMBus commands from the FPGA to the Renesas chip? If so, could you provide any examples or point me to relevant documentation?

Unfortunately, smartVID is controlled by SDM(Secure Device Manager) and users has no access to SDM.
