  • This feature (embedded simulator) is obsolete in your current quartus ( version 11.0 ), that support has been removed.

  • So even if you have Quartus 9 project and now trying to open .vwf file in quartus 11.0,it will not be able to find that file.

  • Dragging that file into your project will open simple "text" but not waveform display.

So now i think you should use "Modelsim" for simulation.

If I use the " modelsim", it will be similar with waveform?

  • Yes similar waveform,in fact more than that, you can experiment and debug in it.Plenty of options it has.

  • You only need to create test bench (giving inputs) and simulate it.

  • Better you search for this. You will find this pretty easy.

Sample Websites for quick and easy learning about testbench :

  1. http://www.asic-world.com/verilog/art_testbench_writing.html

  2. http://www.cecs.csulb.edu/~rallison/verilog_examples_table.htm (http://www.cecs.csulb.edu/%7erallison/verilog_examples_table.htm

You can find also "Modelsim" tutorials about simulation.
