Hi,

I am using Quartus 8.0 for my Legacy design. Everything was working smooth but since couple of days suddenly I am facing issues if I try generating the design from the SOPC builder.

Below is the error snip from the SOPC builder.

Kindly help me resolve the issue.

Regards,

Sukesh

Hi

Due to it is Quartus8, it is a bit hard to debug as it is not supported currently.

Could you check if the ptf file is present in the location mentioned in the logs?

Hi

Any update on this case?

Quartus 8 is quite old, it is recommended to upgrade your design to a newer version.

Hello Jingyang, Teh

I even Tried compiling with the Quartus II 13.0sp1 version. But the issue is still the same i.e SOPC builder fails to generate the design with the ptf file error.

Note: I have 20.1 and 20.3 versions as well and which works good where platform designer is used generate the system. The cause got something to do with SOPC builder irrespective of version or project.

Hi

Recommendation is to use 20.1 that is working instead of using Quartus 8.0.

This is because Quartus 8.0 is very outdated.

Hello Jingyang, Teh

I would have done that but the thing is 8.0 supports the sopc builder and 20.1 comes with platform designer tool.

And I have to implement the design with sopc builder to support the legacy Firmware . I tried with 13.0 which is the alternate option for 8.0 recommended by intel. But still I face the same issue and I would need some suggestion on the route cause and work around on the ptf error.

Hi Sukesh

Sorry we do not provide support for legacy version.

However I managed to find a KDB that mentioned the same error you are facing.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/programmable/articles/000083743.html

Could you try removing the registry entry as mentioned in the KDB.
