I am getting this error when I try to simulate my design using Questasim:
** Error: C:/quartuspro/quartus/eda/sim_lib/mentor/cyclone10gx_atoms_ncrypt.v(36): in protected region
# Optimization failed
# Error loading design
Anyone know what is causing this?

Hi @Nitin1
Have you compile the simulation libraries before you simulate your design?
You may checkout the User Guide below on how-to simulate Intel FPGA Designs using third party simulator tools.

Hi @Nitin1
Have you try to simulate in our Modelsim Intel FPGA Edition?
See if the issue persists.
Share me the simulation log file and the simulation script so I can investigate further.

Richard Tan

Hi Richard,
Is it possible to get a temporary license for Intel Modelsim Intel FPGA Edition (not Starter edition) to see if the problem goes away?

Hi @Nitin1
Sorry, we do not provide temporary license here. You may need to contact your distributor FAE if you have one dedicated to your account/company.

Hi @Nitin1 ,
I don't really get much from the .zip file.
What types of error that you get when simulate using the Modelsim Intel Starter FPGA edition?
Does it pass the previous error that occurred in Questasim?

Richard Tan

Hi @Nitin1
May I know what types of error that you get when simulate using the Modelsim Intel Starter FPGA edition?
Does it pass the previous error that occurred in Questasim?
Could you help to share the design files, testbench, script as well so I can look into this further?
Best Regards,
Richard Tan
