I have been given the challenge to setup a multi-user remote desktop pc (Windows XP Pro SP3), which should serve Quartus 4.2 and NIOS II.
One of my users has setup Quartus 4.2 on the remote pc and is able to build his FPGA project. When another user logs on, he is getting errors (Unable to locate java runtime environment). I have read this has something to do with permissions. Both users are members of the local administrators group. When taking a closer look to the security settings in c:\altera, I see the installing user has special permissions (Full control) inherited from C:\ for "this folder only" This is the case for the altera and all underlying folders. When I look at the permissions set on C:\, the user is not in the list. How can the altera folder inherit folder permissions for the installing user from C:\, when those permissions are not assigned? Giving the other user specific full control permissions on the altera and underlying folders, does not work. He is getting the same java error. Is there any way I can make the quartus/nios ide install serve multiple users?- Tags:
