Hi,

I'm working with Quartus II in particular, I have create a design of FFT and I have simulate the results with Modelsim for 32,128,1024 sample of input. After that I've created the VCD file for the different set of input (FFT32point, FFT128point ecc..) . In Quartus, I have compiled my project without error and now and I have to analyze the power consumption.

I have some problem, and please help me:

first: I would like to analyze the power consumption of my design without add the input signal . I've have add a VCD file, and I have set the correct clock

frequency (100MHz) inside of the SDC file. After that I've started the Power Analyze but I've obtained the results of power very strange . The blocks of synthesized have the power very low and I don't understand why. The results of Power for the different disign of FFT no change. for example, i've a block of multiplier and its the power dynamic consumption don't change if i calculate with 32 or 1024 sample. how is possible? what is wrong? the power consumption of the different analyzes made with different vcd file does not change! why?

second: i don't have understand how i can set the toggle rate. maybe it is the error?

three: how i can know if the vcd files that i've generate from modelsim are correct?

four: how i can do the power analyze starting from vcd file and without the input signal?

thanks at all.
