Did you upload the hardware configuration with the Quartus programmer first? Which one did you use?

No you don't need any license. Which .sof file is it? Are you sure it includes a Nios processor?

I'm just following the instruccions of the NIOSII IDE Quick-start tutorial, trying to run the examples "NiosII_cycloneII_2c35_standard_sopc.ptf " on NIOSII
and the "NiosII_cycloneII_2c35_standard.sof" on QUARTUS II programer. I dont understand yet what is that about Nios Processor. Thanks- Mark as New

You are using the light file. Do you get any error message from the quartus programmer when you upload the .sof file?
Do yo uhave any other .sof file given with the project, such as a LED animation demo, so you can be sure the board is working properly?- Mark as New

I don't get any problem with the quartus programer, it runs properly.
There is no other .sof files with it, and I don't have tried other proyects because I just was testing it, but didnt work with the tutorial proyect. Do you have any test file that you can give me for that? or where can I find them? I don't have the board here in my house, but I'll try to run another example when arrive at the laboratory. Thanks
