Just tried to install Quartus II 9.1 Web Edition on a FAT32 partition and got 0x52 error about file "F:\91\quartus\common\help\webhelp\mergedProjects\msgs\msgs\wddrtcl_must_be_same_clk_type.htm".
Filename string is 92 characters long, which is probably OK.
The drive had 14.2 GB still free.
The problem seems to arise from too many files in that folder.
There were 11,599 files already.
A FAT32 directory can hold no more than 65,534 directory entries.
Each file or subdirectory has at least one and at most thirteen entries.
The actual number of entries is determined by the length of the file name.
Altera might wish to do something about this.
In the meanwhile, does anybody know if there is anything that could be done?
