Quartus II v12 scroll suddenly follows cursor

Hello all,

I have been using QuartusII v12 for a few months now and get verry annoyed by the fact that Quartus starts to follow my cursor when I type opening parentheses. What I mean by that is that it scrolls the window so that the cursor is on the leftmost side. Sometimes it also sets the line i'm typing as the topmost line in view. When I close the file and reopen it the problem is over until it does that again when I type the parentheses.

I think I have overlooked a setting somewhere in trying to get rid of it. Can anyone help me to disable this setting?

Thanks, Pieter

Hi,

I had similar strange stuff as my window always scrolled to show the line (with typing "(") to be IIRC on top even if the typed line was at the bottom of the screen. I had filed a request but they were not able to reproduce this. I got rid of this by deactivating the "autocompletion" in the Editor settings. Another option is to update to QII v13 which did not show this strange stuff (even with Autocompletion activated).

Regards

Whow, sorry, I already use v13. I know I posted V12 but since I have my new computer I use v13. (Didn't know that was a new version.) Sorry.

Turning off autocompletion helps, but I'd rather have this problem than having to type every name in full.

Hi,

would you mind to issue a service request at ALTERA for this - as I told you I also had some issues (while for me 13.x works)?

Found it, but can't submit because there are no search results. What keywords did you use?

I used Autocomplete parenthesis scrolls view

And when I add Quartus to the list the website loads 10 times in one view, only to tell me that there are no results.

Hi,

I use Support => MySupport (you need to have or create an ALTERA account) => Login => MySupport (clickable link in the left) => Create Service Request

You may refer to Service Request# 10959149 if you like as this described my issues :-D
