Hi Richard.
I reinstalled Windows and everything worked as expected.
So suddenly a Windows problem arose, which, unfortunately, could not be fixed by Microsoft tools - DISM and System File Checker.
The only solution is to reinstall Windows.
Thank you very much for your support.
Best Regards,
ELIT1.

May I know how you simulate your design?
We simulate the design using a simulation script. Refer to the user guide below and try simulating using the recommended flow.
You may also choose to simulate using the example design provided in the user guide.
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/programmable/691278/21-3/quick-start.html
Does the tool works before? If so, check your OS history update, e.g. to check if the issue happen after some specific Window update.

Hi.
Thanks for the quick reply.
I use Questa Projects (*.mpf), not the simulation scripts.
I tried to simulate using the example design provided in the user guide.
But when I try to open the design (testbench_1.v) or do (mentor_example.do) file (page 13, 2.) - simulator crashes.
Attached stack traces.
Conclusion: the simulator crashes when trying to open any file.
How to fix this?
Thanks,
ELIT1

May I know how do you install the software ?
Could you try to uninstall the Questa software and reinstall again ?
Before you install,
1. Check that the disk space is sufficient for the installation of the Intel FPGA software.
2. If you are running antivirus software, try to temporarily disable the antivirus software during the Questa software download and installation process.
3 Install the software with Administrator privileges.
4. Try to download and auto install using the new Quartus installer.

Hi Richard,
I installed the Quartus Prime Pro 24.3, including Questa Intel Edition, on 11/12/2024.
The simulator worked without any problem until 06/02/2025.
When suddenly on 06/02/2025 the simulator started to crash,
I reinstalled it, but unfortunately it didn't help.
To continue urgent work, I had to reinstall ModelSim IE 21.2, which works without any problems.
I always install any software with Administrator privileges.
There was never a case where Norton Antivirus interfered with the installation of any program,
including Quartus & Questa 11/12/1924, so I never temporarily disabled it.

Additionally, could you try this as well?
Let me know how it goes.

Hi Richard.
I checked everything you suggested.
Nothing has changed - Unable to open project, source code or do file in Questa GUI - Simulator crashes.
I did example from C:\intelFPGA_pro\24.3\questa_fe\examples\tutorials\verilog\automation -
Everything is fine in Command Line mode, Waveform file open without problems.

This error message indicates an access violation (exception code C0000005), which occurs when a program attempts to read or write to an invalid memory location.
Could you try running it on a different machine to see if the issue persists?
If it works, that would provide a good comparison between the two machines.
Alternatively, you may try moving the project directory to a folder where you have the access permissions.
