I have recently installed Quartus Prime Lite Edition 22.1std.2 Build 922 in my Linux Mint 21.1 desktop. I'm currently working on a project and I've been meaning to simulate a Verilog module through a testbench. My design compiles fine. I have done all the setup steps required to achieve this, and I'm executing Tools > Run Simulation Tool > RTL Simulation. The messages I'm getting don't show any error:
Info (22036): Successfully launched NativeLink simulation (quartus_sh -t "/home/jorge/Aplicaciones/Quartus/quartus/common/tcl/internal/nativelink/qnativesim.tcl" --rtl_sim "Pulse_Detector" "Pulse_Detector")
Info (22036): For messages from NativeLink execution see the NativeLink log file /path/to/project/Pulse_Detector/Pulse_Detector_nativelink_simulation.rpt
And the log file refered above doesn't show anything either:
Info: Start Nativelink Simulation process
Info: NativeLink has detected Verilog design -- Verilog simulation models will be used
========= EDA Simulation Settings =====================
Sim Mode : RTL
Family : cyclonev

Quartus sim root : /home/jorge/Aplicaciones/Quartus/quartus/eda/sim_lib
Simulation Tool : questa intel fpga
Simulation Language : verilog
Simulation Mode : GUI
Sim Output File :

Info: Starting NativeLink simulation with Questa Intel FPGA software
Sourced NativeLink script /home/jorge/Aplicaciones/Quartus/quartus/common/tcl/internal/nativelink/modelsim.tcl
Warning: File Pulse_Detector_run_msim_rtl_verilog.do already exists - backing up current file as Pulse_Detector_run_msim_rtl_verilog.do.bak9
Info: Spawning Questa Intel FPGA Simulation software
Info: NativeLink simulation flow was successful
However the simulation software does not launch at all. I tried to open it by clicking the vsim executable in 'QuartusPath/questa_fse/linux_x86_64' and it doesn't work either. I also did the solution in the following link, and it didn't help: https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-Quartus-Prime-Software/Can-t-launch-Questa-from-Quartus/m-p/1466860#M77661
I would appreciate some help.

Hi,
Check this previous post link https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-FPGA-Software-Installation/Questa-Intel-FPGA-Starter-Edition-does-not-recognise-license/m-p/1395125
Linux Mint is not an officially supported OS for Questa. Please use the supported OS stated in this link https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/programmable/support-resources/design-software/os-support.html
Thanks,
Best Regards,

Hello, I'm running into the very same issue. What did you do following this post and answer? It's weird that according to the table in the link, Ubuntu is supported but Mint isn't.

Hello,
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the software running on Linux Mint. I ended up using another machine with Windows 11. I don't know if there's a solution for this though.
