Resolving Errors in hardware implementations of Agilex Board using Quartus Prime Pro 24.1

Hello,

I am using Quartus Prime pro 24.1 to program a AGILEX Board.

After programming the bitstream file we are getting an error message in Quartus program with log:
Error status: The device chain in Programmer does not match physical device chain. Expected JTAG ID code 0x0343B0DD for device 1, but found JTAG ID code 0xC341A0DD.
Operation failed.

When we program and configure, the progress is 0% (Failed).

We have been stuck with this error. Could you please help us to find the issue.

Thank You.

Hi Shriraksha,

I think you are using Terasic Agilex SoM board.

In your screenshot, a wrong FPGA device is selected, it's not for Agilex SoM board, and there isn't HPS device in the JTAG chain. Please follow the steps below to program the .sof again:

1. Click“Auto Detect”button on the Programmer window, then select the FPGA device associated with the Agilex SoM module board.

2. Then you should see both FPGA and HPS devices are shown in the JTAG chain. Right click on the FPGA device, click“Change File..”, select your .sof file.

3. Check the“Program/Configure”box, and then click“Start”button to download .sof file into FPGA.

By the way, please remove the sdcard from the board before programming the .sof file. And your email system seemed has issue as the email replied by Terasic was refused, it shows all your email accounts are invalid.

Thanks.
