Trouble connecting from FS2 console to device thru USB blaster

I've been asked to debug fallout of some of our units.

I am attempting to using the FS2 console to initiate reads and writes and otherwise exerciseEP4CE10F17I7N.

However, I've been stumped with the following:

System Analyzer for Nios® II Processor

Serial number

Version 1.9.6 build 3

Copyright (C) 1998-2005 First Silicon Solutions, Inc.

Communication port must be specified.

Use openport <port> to configure the communication port

detect_trigger length trigger error

No Memcache range available: Communication has not been established with remote unit.

cd c:/altera/91/nios2eds/examples

1> closeport

2> openport usb

No available FS2 products found on USB port.

3>

How do I get the FS2 to recognize the usb blaster that is seen by the Nios2 console?

This is the first time I have tried to use the Quartus/Nios/FS2 software to do this so I am suspecting I have a configuration issue, but what is it?

Thank you in advance,
