download device support file

Hi, 

 

https://www.altera.com/download/software/quartus-ii-we/10.1 

Is that necessary to download device support file seperately while using webedition of quartus II 10.1 etc?? If so how can we get device support file? eg; I need to use EP2s60f672c3n device. 

 

anyone please replay...

Earlier versions of Quartus came with devices built in. The 10.1 download you referenced should support Stratix II parts, including the one you've specified. If you must use version 10.1, I suggest you download it with sp1:

sorry sir, quartus II version 10.1 sp1 also not supporting the device EP2s60f672c3n stratix II. what abt 8.0 and other lower versions???

OK - I see. Version 10.1sp1 does support Stratix II and specifically the EP2S60F672C3. However, I accept it doesn't specifically list the 'N' variant you refer to - i.e. EP2S60F672C3N. This indicates the device you have is a RoHS compliant version. 

 

Compile your project specifying the EP2S60F672C3 and it will work on your board. There is no functional difference between the two parts. 

 

If you can't see the EP2S60F672C3 then you will need add the device family to your installation. For 10.1sp1, you will probably need to re-run the installation package. During the installation setup you will be able to select the device families you need installed.
