hi everyone

i've just installed quartus II v9.0 in windows vista

and i've come acrossed this error:

"Internal Error: Sub-system: ATCL, File: /quartus/ccl/atcl/atcl_root.cpp, Line: 334

Error: "ATCL": Can't find a usable init.tcl in the following directories:

C:/Programas/altera/90/quartus/bin/tcl8.4 C:/Programas/altera/90/quartus/lib/tcl8.4 C:/Programas/altera/90/quartus/lib/tcl8.4 C:/Programas/altera/90/lib/tcl8.4 C:/Programas/altera/90/quartus/library C:/Programas/altera/90/library C:/Programas/altera/90/tcl8.4.11/library C:/Programas/altera/tcl8.4.11/library

This probably means that Tcl wasn't installed properly.

What's your actual quartus\bin location? Does it contain a folder tcl8.4 and init.tcl within?

If not, have they been installed in a different location?

I guess, it may be a Windows locales problem with the spanish version.

i installed the complete version of web edition, with custom settings, except the installer had a pre defined install directory wich was c:\altera and i changed it to c:\Programas\altera

im using vista portuguese version

"Programas" is the folder Program Files....

do you think i should install it in the pre defined directory?

I just guessed, that their may be a problem with the directory naming. Using c\altera may be a solution, but I don't know, if it's possible under Vista at all. The other option is to ask Altera support.

I now got the same issue with Altera 12.1 SP1 and Windows 7 x64. So it seems to be not fixed yet...

EDIT: found the workaround to use "program files" instead of the localized program files folder. Now it works for me!
