Hi all,
I'm having problems with installing 10.0_modelsim. I have tryed the installation tool where it fetches directly from altera and also tryed installing the stand alone 10.0_modelsim_ase_windows.exe file. I have already installed the 10.0 nios2eds and 10.0 quartus, but when I go to start->Altera->quartus the symlink starts looking for the programs... Not sure if my system is compleatly ****ed or what is going on... Just post if you are experiencing some problems with installing.. Cheers Stefan btw I run Windows XPLink Copied

Also if I now go into "Add or Remove Programs" The Quartus or Nios2des do not show up there even if they installed successfully... If I try lunching them I get missing shortcut...

I now re-installed nios, modelsim, and quartus 91.sp2 and no problem. Then I removed them all with ControlPanle->Add or Remove Programs. Did a restart. Then tryed to install inn the following order:
10.0_quartus_free_windows.exe "innstalled passed" 10.0_nios2eds_windows.exe "installed passed" 10.0_modelsim_ase_windows.exe "installed failed" The note I get with the Installation Failed is: ModelSim-Altera Starter Edition (Free) installation failed. Incomplete installation File 'c:altera\10.0\modelsim_ase\.. \modelsim_ase/win32aloem/instanceguid.txt' does not exist. It is a bit supprising to see the switching of \ and / in the path... but this is how the error looks like.. now if I try starting quartus, modelsim or nios2eds then it starts browsing for missing shortcut...- Mark as New

Hi,
Can someone report that they had no problem installing the new v10.0 on Windows XP. If so then there is something wrong with my PC and I will have to go through the trouble of installing a clean Win XP on it again... Cheers Stefan- Mark as New

I came here following your link.
I also have a similar problem. I've Window Vista and previously installed QuartusII 9.0 and 9.1sp1. The installation seems ok but the Quartus executable is not present. Any hint?- Mark as New

This is not the same for me.
The version I'm trying to install is the web free edition. I wonder if the software is the same. I'm trying to dowload the installation file again. Maybe Altera provided a minor change to it...- Mark as New

I used the web edition, tried both the downloaded file and the web installer on Windows XP 32 bits, but no luck. The Quartus seemed to install fine. But reported missing ling when I lunched it from Start->altera->Quartus :(
Also it does not appear in the controle panel add/remove programs...- Mark as New
