Hello Neel,
Greetings for the day!
This is regarding the case you have with us with the following details.
Case No.: 06009776
Product: Intel® QuickAssist Technology (Intel® QAT)
Issue description: Intel QAT 8970 Not Enumerated on Intel 4th Gen Processor
The Intel QAT 8970 Adapter is considered a Hardware Version 1.x, while the 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processors are considered Hardware Version 2.0 from a QAT standpoint. The driver package to use is different depending on which hardware version is being used. Some 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processors have QAT Engines built-in, so there is no need for the external QAT PCIe adapter in this Hardware Version. For the Intel® Xeon® Silver 4416+ Processor, there is one QAT Engine available to use by default and two that can be activated via Intel On Demand upgrade, see more information in Intel® Xeon® Silver 4416+ Processor.
Additional information about the driver package for each QAT Hardware Version is available in Which Intel® QuickAssist Technology (Intel® QAT) Driver Should Be Used Based on the Platform?
