End of Life Pre-Announcement

Intel plans to end of life (EOL) the Intel® Software Guard Extensions (Intel® SGX) Attestation Service Utilizing Intel® EPID (IAS for short) April 2, 2025. This would include all active API versions. Intel also plans to limit access to the IAS Development (DEV) environment after September 29, 2024.

Your Action May be Required

Active consumers of IAS should assess their attestation needs and work to migrate to one of several solution options. Intel-offered attestation alternatives include:

Intel will provide periodic reminders as the EOL timeframe approaches.

Background

Many Intel products that originally supported Intel® Software Guard Extensions (Intel® SGX) and enabled use of Intel® SGX Attestation Service Utilizing Intel® Enhanced Privacy ID (Intel® SGX Attestation Service Utilizing Intel® EPID) have exceeded or are approaching their End of Servicing Lifetime (EOSL) dates, and more recent products exclusively support Intel® SGX Data Center Attestation Primitives (Intel® SGX DCAP) with Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) based attestation. Intel is electing to focus future enabling support on the options outlined above.
