Until recently the sharing of apk files have been stopped. After the latest update in Microsoft store for intel unison, if you try to send an apk file it prompts an error saying it's not supported. But, prior to this latest update it used to work , I was able to send apk files previously. I don't know why Intel has done this kinda bad.

Hello Nicconike,
Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I understand that you have some issues sending APK files with the Intel® Unison™ app.
As part of the process, I would like to confirm the following first:
1. Did the app come Pre-Installed?
2. What is the operating system version and build?
3. What is the unison PC App version?
4. What is the iPhone model+ iOS version or Android phone and Android version, and mobile Unison app version?
5. What is the Computer Brand, model, and Intel Processor?
6. What is the intel Wi-Fi & Bluetooth adapter model used and version?
7. Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.
- Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18377/intel-system-support-utility-for-windows.html
- Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
- To save your scan, click Next and click Save.

Hi, I understand your question is regarding Intel Unison, if my system falls under the mentioned requirements for selected processors or generations, etc but it was already working perfectly fine for me before updating it in Microsoft store (that's what I'm suspecting if changed the behaviour)
Nevertheless, below are your question's answers:
1. No
2. Win 11 - Build 22631
3. Intel Unison Version u:20.16.4909.0/c:20.16.6423.0
4. Android Version 11 - App Version 20.16.4828 (Already updated to latest)
5. MSI GL65 10SEK - i7 10750H
6. Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz - 22.250.1.2 & Bluetooth - 22.250.0.2

Well, this is overcollection of data as the troubleshooting was needed from the backend team of this app or the QA team. Anyway, support team won't proceed without their provided instructions, so I have attached the file

Hello Nicconike,
Thanks for your patience. I would like to let you know that based on the test performed, using the Android Unison app send 1 APK file to the PC Unison App and from PC Unison App > File Transfer > Android mobile >Add files. There were no issues, blocks, or error message prompts using the same Wi-Fi internet connection for both PC and Android phones.
Can you inform me at which step the error "Unsupported file type. Please use the file transfer" appears? Also, can you capture a video for me when using the Unison PC App and screenshot from the Unison Android App?
Regards,
Deivid A.

Hi,
I am attaching the video evidence which shows the prompted error when trying to send an apk file from PC to phone. I also tried by using the other method of selecting the files by clicking on "Add Files" , still same error. But am able to send the apk file from phone to PC (tried again just now) and not the other way around.

Thanks for the response. As per your reply does it mean that the dev team is working on fixing this issue and deploy a new patch for it right? If so, then that would be great. Hoping for a quick update coming to intel unison. This will help everyone who might need it!

Hello Nicconike,
In this case, the development team is making improvements to the Intel® Unison™ app and your feedback has been taken under consideration. However, there is no ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) for any future updates.
My last recommendation is to keep your system up to date to receive the latest features for the Intel® Unison™ app.
Please keep in mind that this thread will no longer be monitored by Intel.
Regards,
Deivid A.
