Hello Pete
To resolve the issue with Intel Unison not being recognized as the default app for call handling on your Surface Pro 6, you can try the following steps:
1. Check Default Apps Settings:• Go toSettings>Apps>Default Apps.
• Under the 'Choose default apps by protocol' section, find the TEL protocol and set Intel Unison as the default app.
2. Run Troubleshooters:• Use theWindows Store Appstroubleshooter to check for any issues with the Unison app.
• Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter to ensure there are no connectivity problems.
3. Allow Background Apps:• Make sure Intel Unison is allowed to run in the background. This setting can be found inSettings>Privacy>Background apps.
4. Reset Intel Unison App:• Go toSettings>Apps>Installed apps.
• Find Intel Unison, click on the three dots, and select Advanced options.
• Under the Reset section, you can try the Repair option first. If that doesn't work, use the Reset option.
5. Reinstall Intel Unison:• If none of the above steps work, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling the Intel Unison app.
Remember to back up any important data before making significant changes to your system settings.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Max

I have the same exact problem. Unison is not an available application when attempting to set a default for the TEL option.

For anyone who's still struggling with this issue, you can try following these steps as they did work for me:
1. Uninstall the Phone Link and the Intel Unison app, you can do this by following these steps:
Press the Windows + X keys together and click on Windows PowerShell (Admin)
Remove the Phone Link app by typing the following command and hit Enter: Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.YourPhone -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage
- Remove the Intel Unison app by going into settings and searching for "Installed apps", search for the Intel Unison app, and press the three dots at the end to uninstall the app.
Restart the PC, this is to ensure that all settings have been reset.
2. Install the Intel Unison app from the Microsoft Store and set up your phone with it. Ensure that you press allow when Intel Unison asks for any permissions on your phone.
3. Turn on full-call support by going into the app settings, "Messages & Calls" and selecting "Full call support".
4. Now do a test call, it might give a little pop-up that it doesn't have call permissions on your PC but it will automatically fix that.
You may notice that the "TEL" protocol is still empty, that's because it doesn't need to be set for Intel Unison to work. (At least in my case it didn't matter.)

I had the same issue.
I solved with your way. I guess the problem was the "Phone Link" app.
Thanks.
