Is the Intel Atom processor suitable for a computer running on windows server 2003? We are running an educational institution and would like to move the existing server pc to a new one which contains Atom processor. And it is told that the computing power of Atom processor is much smaller that it can be compared only to a 1GHz Pentium III processor. Is it true? Our network is very small and contains only 25 pc's and the additional constraint is all the newly bought systems have come with an atom 230 processor only. And the old server was a 2.6GHz P4.

Can I had something?
The P III 1ghz was not so bad (my ¨Pentium 4 515 was only 1.5 faster)..;
An Atom 330 (Dual core with Ht) will be more suited for your task , I guess
There is few barebone based on that cpu
