Hello,
I've received a S2600CP4 motherboard from server disassembly.
This motherboard is working with 2xE5-2660v2 and 32GB of RAM (8x4GB Samsung 1600MHz registered).
Ubuntu OS installed without an issue.
I tried to build a home server, but the motherboard didn't start with a RX560 videocard. Neither with RX480.
Looks like it won't start when something is connected to PCI-E.
I decided to update the bios.
During the BMC update all ended up successfully.
But when I executed a command ''UpdateBIOS.nsh", I've got a message:
"Error: A file in the update package is incompatible with the target".
It seems that the current bios is incorrect.
I'v tried the next bios versions:
02.02.0002
02.04.0003
02.05.0004
02.06.0005
02.06.0006
The result is always the same.
Please advise!
Boris
P.S.
I'm attaching the photos of the motherboard, the current bios version and the update error.

Hello BorisN,
It's certainly weird that different BIOS update packages are giving you this consistent error.
I would like you to try using the Online Flash Utility (OFU). You can download it from the following URL: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26990/Intel-One-Boot-Flash-Update-Intel-OFU-Utility?product=61088. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26990/Intel-One-Boot-Flash-Update-Intel-OFU-Utility?product=61088.
This will allow you to perform the BIOS installation while been online on the OS. Pretty much I would like you to try from this alternate method to see if the error persist.
Please keep me updated

Hello Jose,
I've tried to do what you've suggested. No success...
OS used: CentOS 7.4
The "Online Flash Utility" utility installed correctly, after the needed dependencies.
It displayed the current bios version on the motherboard and the version of the bios in the update file.
But the command "flushupdt -u /flushupdt.cfg" returned an error.
Please look at the photos I'm attaching to this message.
What else can I do in order to update the bios?
Boris
Hello BorisN,
It's certainly weird that different BIOS update packages are giving you this consistent error.
I will recommend trying an older BIOS version. Maybe the previous one or two back.
Also, please tries a different USB key to do the BIOS update.
And if the problem persists will recommend trying to do the BIOS update with minimum Hardware. One CPU, one or two memory stick and no HDD
Please keep me updated

Hello BorisN,
Lets try an older BIOS version like 01.02.0003 from following URL: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/21184/Intel-Server-Board-S2600CP-Family-Firmware-Update-Package-for-IDA-Intel-OFU-and-WinPE https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/21184/Intel-Server-Board-S2600CP-Family-Firmware-Update-Package-for-IDA-Intel-OFU-and-WinPE-
If it returns an error about downgrade not allowed try the following: In order to downgrade from this BIOS version, you must use the recovery jumper method.
Please let us know the outcome.

Hello BorisN,
Could you please pull up the System Event Logs using this tool https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26988/System-Event-Log-SEL-Viewer-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26988/System-Event-Log-SEL-Viewer-Utility
and share them with us so we can take more in depth look?

Hello BorisN,
I think that unfortunately such a utility doesn't exist unless 3rd party modified. The BIOS version compatibility check up is a safety feature to prevent downgrade flashing which will permanently damage the board.
You could attach the SN and PBA # of the board or call us directly at https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/contact-support.html# @10 https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/contact-support.html# @10 since is possible that your board might need to be replaced.
