Hi Intel Server teams!
Our servers are suddenly "hung"after executing commands "lspci" at Linux. It's very easy to produce and it was working well until a few days ago...We haven't changed anything...
And I also find some Critical Events log in BMC... It looks like there's a firmware problem...
Could you please give me some advice?
Linux t02edk05 5.4.0-125-generic #141~18.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Aug 11 20:15:56 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Thanks a lot!
Cook Lu

Hello CookLu,
Thank you so much for contacting Intel customer support,
In this case, before proceeding with any recommendations we will require some information back from your end.
- Can you please let us know exactly what Linux built that is being run on these affected servers?
- Did the servers experience any kind of changes (Hardware/Software) before the issues started?
- In order to verify any possible hardware or software issues the following two logs will be required from each of the affected servers:
- Debug Logs
These logs can be extracted by going to BMC Console > System Information > System Debug Log > Generate Log.
- SEL logs
These logs can be extracted by going to BMC Console > Server Health > Event Log > Save Event.
Best regards,

Hello CookLu,
Thank you for the information provided, we found that there are several critical errors within the system. Some of them include the BIOS, processor, PCI, etc.
We noticed you are using an older version of the BIOS (1011), it is important for you to know that there are 4 newer versions of the BIOS for your system (0012, 0013, 0014, and 0015), each one of them including fixes for issues on the previous versions. Please perform the update of the BIOS for your system, in order to do it, follow the steps in our article "BIOS Update for Intel® Server Boards"
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000020746/server-products.html
It is important for you to know that you have to perform an update for each version and should not update directly to the latest one. If you update directly to the latest one without downloading first the previous versions, serious damage can be caused to the system. You can find all the BIOS versions for your system on the following link:
Once you have installed the latest version, please generate a new set of both SEL and Debug logs. Also, generate a set of Sysinfo logs, in order to do this, follow the instructions in our article "User Guide for Intel System Information Retrieval Utility (Sysinfo)"
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000023940.html
Let me know if you have any doubts.
