Building a TBB Development Desktop

Hey all,

I posted on TBB-develop a while ago about what kinda system to develop TBB applications on. I'm now ready to actually purchase a new desktop system for future YetiSim and TBB research... the goal is to get as many cores as possible for as little cash as possible.

The ideal setup is two Core 2 Quad-Core processors on the same motherboard, for a total of 8 cores. It doesn't look like there is such a motherboard at first glance however.

Does anyone have some suggestions for how to build a good TBB development system cheaply? Any experience from others? As much as I would love a Xeon system, I doubt I could afford something with 8 cores.
