Do you have to use VNC Viewer to access KVM?

We are implementing vPro with SCCM. We would like to take advantage of the KVM functionality vPro has to offer, and we have the proper hardware, but we don't want to have to purchase Real VNC Viewer Plus to utilize this feature. Is there another VNC Viewer that can be used to obtain the same functionality or did Intel fail to mention to everyone that this extra license is going to need to be purchased in order to take advantage of KVM? Does it even have to be VNC? Is there another solution that can be used here? Thanks
