IP address refresh time - connection

I'd like to know where I can find the option/information on the server to refresh the IP address so I can connect to another computer remotely.

If there's no such option, is there a default interval for the computer to send its IP address to the server?

I don't use Intel-AMT profiles because I have computers with Intel processors without VPRO, but also AMD processors.

Please reply.

Hi Diveyt,

Generally isn't a universal "refresh IP address" button on most servers unless you are using specialized remote management platforms (like Intel AMT/vPro, which you indicated you don't use) or dedicated remote access software.

However, On most systems, you can manually refresh the IP address on the client computer by running ipconfig /release followed by ipconfig /renew in the command prompt (on Windows),

The default reporting or polling interval for status updates (including IP address) is often set to 1 second to 5 minutes, where we can check by going to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > View your network properties to see the active IP address.

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

I understand. The problem is that if an employee works on a 192.168.1.99 network and suddenly needs to change to 192.168.2.99, how long will it take for the agent on the computer to send the new IP address so I can connect to it remotely? Where can I find information about how often the IP address is sent to the server? The question is, can I change this time myself? If so, where?

Hi Diveyt,

When an employee moves from one network (e.g. 192.168.1.99) to another (e.g. 192.168.2.99), the time it takes for the agent on their computer to send the new IP address to the server depends on your remote management software's default reporting interval, the agent's configuration, and sometimes the DHCP lease refresh.

Hi,

I understand. I'm only using the endpoint group and the settings there. I've attached a screenshot of what I have configured. There's no setting for the agent's IP address refresh time. DHCP isn't relevant here because the employee changes the IP address on their laptop's network card.

Where can I find the setting that will allow me to find out how often the agent sends IP address information?

Hello Diveyt,

"Where can I find the setting that will allow me to find out how often the agent sends IP address information?"

Please log in to the EMA console as the Global Admin.

Go to Server Settings > Swarm Server

Look for the option: Agent Update Interval (Seconds)

The default and minimum option is 10 seconds. You may increase the period as required.

Note: Please find the attachment of the screen shot of the settings tab from the global admin.
After saving changes. It is better to restart the Intel® EMA services.

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

I have it set up like you. In web GUI, ednpoints, computer, section: general, i still see the old adress ip in interface . What do i need to change to refresh this information correctly? I don't want reset intelema service or restart server, I would like it to be updated regularly.

Hi Diveyt,

As the Intel EMA works with the memory included with the processor, hence there is a delay getting the new information from the AMT to the Intel EMA console. Hence the only option is to restart the Intel EMA services as per our research.
