Hi,
I've patched the ME vulnerability using Intel's SA-00086 detection tool. However a message is saying an Intel service is obsolete (see screenshot). There's no link to a patch and I could not find anything on Intel's support site.
Any ideas on what I should do next?
Thks,
jfg

Hi jfg,
iCLS is distributed by system manufacturers as part of the Intel Management Engine Driver (the Windows driver, not the Management Engine firmware included in the BIOS update).
Check with your system manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer for an updated driver. Let us know if your manufacturer doesn't have an update posted and we can try to contact them. Be sure to let us know the system or motherboard model you are working with.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
The motherboard is an ASUS Maximus Code IX, Windows 10 64-bit. Their latest driver updates are https://www.asus.com/ie/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-IX-CODE/HelpDesk_Download/ here
The driver under BIOS is Intel's update, which I applied.
You mentioned iCLS is part of the "Intel Management Engine Driver" in your reply - I see a "Management Engine Interface" update under 'Chipset' - would that be it?
Thks,
jfg

Thanks for the info.
Have you installed the Chipset update dated 2017/11/01? That is a Intel® Management Engine update. There are no release notes so it's hard to tell if it includes an updated iCLS.
Install that update if you have not done so yet then re-run the SA-00086 Detection Tool.
Let me know if that resolves the warning.

Hello!
I'm having the same issue, except I have another motherboard (ASRock B150M-HDS).
I already tried download latest chipset drivers (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility- Download Intel® Chipset Device Software (INF Update Utility) ) these, but no luck, I still get the same error, latest motherboard version is INF(v10.1.1.38), tried with that one too, but didn't work neither.
What I can do? Thanks.

Hi D.Mihai,
You need to get the latest Management Engine Driver from the ASRock web site. That should help.
Please visit this site, http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/B150M-HDS/?cat=Download http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/B150M-HDS/?cat=Download click the link for your OS and download the latest Management Engine Driver. Reboot your system after the install and try the tool again.

Still the same, that is the last version available from ASRock on the motherboard webpage, it's from 12/6/2017.

Hi D.Mihai,
The iCLS is distributed by Intel directly to the system manufacturers. We rely on them to test it with their systems and distribute it to customers.
Please contact ASRock and ask them how to get the correct version of iCLS for your system.

If the other user's fix doesn't work for you neither you can do the next thing, which I got from this forum https://www.mygarage.ro/showthread.php?p=3796679# post3796679 https://www.mygarage.ro/showthread.php?p=3796679# post3796679 of my country, all credits goes to king2630 from Mygarage.ro as he is who helped me find this.
Go to device manager -> Intel Management Engine Interface -> uninstall device and check the "delete the driver software for this device" box. Now restart your PC and download this http://www.station-drivers.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=352&func=fileinfo&id=3329&lang=fr Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Version 1805.12.0.1097 WHQL extract it wherever you want (watch out, it will extract all the files directly, not a folder with them, so if you don't want to mess up select a empty folder lol) and install it. Restart your PC again after installing this and you're done.
