Hello, I have an Sony Vaio SVS 13, which I bought 2018. Now my notebook has been locked by the McAfee Software. It is a second hand notebook und bevor blocking I didn't know anything about this anti theft system. So I don't have the password to unlock the notbook (1 2 3 4 5 6 or 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 don't work) and also I do not have the Anti-Theft Account for the the webconsole. So the solutions in Document ID: TS101587 can't help me. But I need the data of my hard drive. My question is, can I remove my HDD to get my files back? Or is the hard drive also locked?

Please help me.

Thank you in advance

Thank you for your link. But without the password or an account, the removal tools don't help me.

This link is old and Mc Afee does not give an answer to bricked pcs there product is no longer supported they just tell you to contact Intel as the pcs involved have a hardware installed component... Which is made by Intel and is discontinued... Pc assistance is no use as the pc is too old and mother boad replacement is not possible on a discontinued product so we are left with a nice brick... Programed auto destruction... Good for the planet... Easy. . just buy a new pc...wash your hands and forget all about consumers... Will definitely NOT buy Intel, Mc Affee again. Have a great day..

Anti theft is part of your pc hardware. The "good news" is that you can remove your hard disk and, using a conversion cable, and connecting this to a working pc you can read your data again.
