We have 2 Intel CPU's within a Proliant DL380 G4, all purchased through HP.
The CPU's are the same, the only difference I could spot is a label at the CPU with different Revision (like 0, and 1).
Still, starting with Windows 2008 R2 64 Bit, I get a BSOD with the message multiprocessor_configuration_not_supported
Once I remove one CPU it does work fine.
I have searched quite some Forums about that, but nothing came up with a solution, only a notice from Microsoft, Different CPU's where never supported.
But those CPU's are not different, only the Revision, so they should work.
Is there any way to tell the CPU, it has the same revision, or any other solution, as right now, we had to remove one CPU.
CPU showing up on Bios:
Proc 1: 3400 MHz
Processor 1 Internal L1 Cache: 16 KB
Processor 1 Internal L2 Cache: 1024 KB
Processor 1 Internal L3 Cache: 0 KB
Proc 2: 3400 MHz
Processor 2 Internal L1 Cache: 16 KB
Processor 2 Internal L2 Cache: 1024 KB
Processor 2 Internal L3 Cache: 0 KB
Thanks
Patrick
