Unable to Connect to Server with Platform Manager

We have set up an EMA Server. According to the Server installation guide, we are running the Intel EMA Agent with a dedicated Service Account. We are unable to connect to the server with Intel Platform Manager on the same box. We are able to login to the Web Server as both Globa Admins and Tenant Admins and perform any functions allocated to those roles. I am at a loss for why we are unable to connect via the Platform Manager. I read an article that said when running the Intel EMA Service as a dedicated Service Account, you should launch Platform Manager and choose to run as another user. We have done this, and no matter what we try, we are unable to connect. We need to troubleshoot client issues, but we are unable to do so.

When adding the Server, which is obviously running as the web interfaces are responding, we are able to authenticate using Windows Authentication. However, the Server never connects. There are no error message appearing, so we are at a loss.

Hello GunnyReinhard,

Greetings!

I am following up on the case and would appreciate it if you could share the following details to help with our investigation:

  1. OS version of the server
  2. SQL version
  3. Location of both servers: (Are they physical or virtual?)
  4. Will the servers be on the same machine?
  5. Intel® EMA software version:

Additionally, please run the following command in PowerShell (as Administrator) to test the ports:

  • Test-NetConnection -ComputerName <FQDN> -Port 80xx (test ports 8000, 8080, and 443)

Also, could you confirm that when you open the Platform Manager, you are logging in as the Global Admin and not using a service account? Please share screenshots if possible.

Lastly, could you please share the following log files?

Default Path: [System drive]\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Platform Manager\EmaLogs

  • EMAlog-Webserver.txt
  • EMAlog-Swarmserver.txt
  • EMAlog-Ajaxserver.txt
  • EMAlog-Recoveryserver.txt
  • EMAlog-Manageabilityserver.txt

Thank you for your cooperation. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards,

Vijay N.
