VPRO lan power management

Hi,

Is there a tool that will discover all my vpro pcs on my lan, and where I then can schedule shutdown times of these machines? With as end results centralized power control of vpro based machines?

This is a basic ability of RMM tools that can handle vPro commands, both Enterprise and MSP suites.

The network scan can also be handled via tools within the SDK, the tool is called Discovery.

As for setting the power down time, that can be set using Power Shell. Take a look at the SDK documents and do a search for "Alarm Clock Snippets"

Thank you. My challenge is manage linux PC's

I am able to get into a lionux PC via KVM (ultra vnc plus) and shut it down.

Now I am looking at a tool that manages times and doesnt cost a lot.

I came accross the program .Remote Computer manager' basicly a tool that scans the network and should be able to log in via amt. However I couldnt get it to work properly as yet. I am looking into a simple and cheap tool that can schedule to shut down PCs via VPRO. Any suggestions are more than welcome.

The tool mentioned above, will probably detect the clients, but not be able to determine if its vPro or not. I would suggest using acuconfig.exe tool from the SCS download to identify your vPro units as we are not talking about Windows based OS clients. Another option is that port 16992 is kistening on vPro clients, You can identify using either telnet or some other port scan tool

Intel has a free tool called the /community/vproexpert/blog/2013/02/05/newly-updated-and-released-intel-vpro-platform-solution-manager Platform Solutions Manager. This tool manages vPro machines independent of the OS and can be used to set the Alarm clocks on the vpro Clients for power up and down operations
