can AMT's host name be a chinese characters?

We are helping a end-use in PRC to turn on vPro, they using SMS as management console, but all their desktops use chinese compute name, and they insist on this. Thus, we should make all the vPros using chinses host name. i tried to change an enghish host name to chinese characters form WebUI, it failed. and I checked some docs, seemed only 0-127 ASCII characters should be the hostname, is this right?
