After I formatted my drive and reinstalled Win XP, the networkdriver was deleted. As this is an old computer built by myself, i do not have any drivers on CD. I foun out that the driver I need is "intel 82801db lan controller" but can't seem to find it anywhere? Where can I download the driver?

I do not recognize that model number, but if the Ethernet controller is an Intel controller then you should be able to use this file:

I have very much the same driver problem.
But the link in the above post is dead.
Various utilities tell me that I need a driver for a "Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL LAN Controller with 82562ET/EZ (CNR) PHY (ICH4/ICH4-L A1 step)".
But even for somebody who knows computers like myself, that flies straight over my head.
Thanks.

I too had this problem.
It does say on that page "Visit Download Center to search for downloads." Which is itself a link, which takes you to http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx?lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx?lang=eng I searched for "Network Adapter Drivers for Windows XP"
Which brings up a number of options
in my case I wanted Windows XP 32-bit which was the first one.
Network Adapter Drivers for Windows XP*
Installs network drivers. Includes Intel® PROSet for Windows Device Manager*, advanced networking services (ANS) for teaming and VLANs, and SNMP.
You can download both the 32 & 64 bit drivers here: - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18717&keyword=%22Network+Adapter+Drivers+for+Windows+XP%22&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18717&keyword=%22Network+Adapter+Drivers+for+Windows+XP%22&lang=eng
I downloaded the 32 bit version called PROWin32.exe
Ran that and then I was able to connect to the net without any further problems.

Thank you, I downloaded this Ray and it worked. I did get a dll error so had to upgrade to SP2, then it worked.
I had been trying other Intel downloads, but none worked until I found your link.
Thanks for the help.
This was an older Dell that I restored and getting ready to give to Goodwill.
