I am using the RealSense D415 camera and it gives me good results, I only have a big problem with the sunlight.
I saw the post about optical filters.
I have a question.
Are there any UV, optical, ND filters and lenses designed for the RealSense cameras (can I buy them somewhere)?
I mean, filters designed to fit in front the cameras well. I can get an UV filter, but it is a circle-shaped and there is a possibility that the sunlight will penetrate betwen the filter and sensor. That can be a serious problem.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,

I do not know of suppliers of filter materials for RealSense specifically but you can have 'cover materials' custom-cut for you by some companies. The easiest approach though would be to apply a micro-thin filter film over the lens.

Thanks I read the document and seems best solution is 'linear film polarizers' to reduce the glare, any examples as I try to source it from Hong Kong ?

There is a link to a Hong Kong online store for linear polarization film here:

This article makes a case for such https://dev.intelrealsense.com/docs/optical-filters-for-intel-realsense-depth-cameras-d400
Turn off emitter and use D415 to find depths seem promising but is it recommended general way to compute near by depths (like a face 50-100 cm away) ? Do I gain any accurate or get other new problems ? Is it only useful for glare removal ?
thanks
Geoff

Intel's tuning guide advises that if a scene is brightly lit then it reduces noise and brings out the texture in objects. In those lighting conditions, you can also manually set the exposure to around 1 ms, which reduces motion artifacts as well.
