Deciding where to place/how many avalon-mm pipeline bridges to use?

I'm building a design to connect pcie, external memory (ddr4) and user logic. I used a terasic example as reference in this they insered a lot of avalon bridges, now I wonder how to decide if I need a bridge or not?

 

Using said example I ended up with something like this:
