How Convert .rssdk to .mp4 or .Avi ?

There isn't much information on this subject. As far as I can work out - and I might be wrong - the .rssdk video is in H.264 video format,also known as MPEG-4 Part 10. MPEG-4 Part 10 is a successor to MPEG-4. MPEG-4 is not the same as mp4 though, despite mp4 looking like a shortened version of the name.

You may find a tool to convert h.264 format videos to mp4 if you google for 'h.264 to mp4 converter'. This has always been risky though. Video converter programs on the internet are notorious for being a trojan horse to put adverts or nastier stuff on your computer. So one has to choose a tool very carefully.

One of the most famous safe and trusted names in video conversion is DivX. I think you won't have any problems if you use that tool.

Edit: I saw in your title that you were also interested in AVI conversion. You could try using the Windows Movie Maker program in Windows 10 for this. To find it easily, type 'movie maker' into the 'Type or speak to me' text box on the taskbar row of Windows, next to the button you use to shut the PC down.

Rssdk file is in H.264 video. There are many online apps can do the video conversion for you, such as zamzar, Acethinker Video Converter, mediaconverter, etc. They are totally free, and you don't have to download or install anything. Take acethinker as sample, here are the steps to convert h.264 video to avi video.

Step 1. Run your web browser and visit the video converter, you can google search for it, this app compatibles with IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, etc.

Step 2. Click 'Select files to start' to open the converter and import your rssdk videos.

Sorry to bother you guys but this really seems to be a related thread about MP4 video conversion right? I also have a problem of MP4 conversion and playback which I downloaded from YouTube yesterday. The video couldn't be played on VLC media Player. In the article it mentions that i can fix video by converting formats. I do not know how it work, but after I added my MP4 video into the program, it asked me to choose a codec. There were 2 , H264 and MPEG4, i do not know which encoder to choose. I also find another type whose name is .MJPEG on the internet and I do not know what are the relations between them. The original video file which i downloaded is MPEG4, but it does not work as i have said just now. As for H264, i also know that it is a highly compressed encoder, so i keep worrying that there might be some quality or content loss in the course of the converting process, is that true? The video's parameter is originally 720P- 60fps and i do not literally like to decrease the file size by losing video output quality and decreasing it to 30fps or lower which is less smooth. How should i fix a video without changing codec? Any one has any constructive ideas?

The question of mp4 versus mpeg4 is a bit complicated. mp4 is a name used for mpeg4 files that have both audio and video in them. So an mpeg4 file is not necessarily always the same as an mp4 (e.g an mpeg4 with audio only is called m4a). Of the two conversion choices presented - mpeg4 and h264 - the appropriate conversion choice would probably be mpeg4.

If you use Windows, you could try drag-and-dropping your damaged file onto the editing timeline of Windows Movie Maker and then exporting the movie in the same format as the original. You should be able to find the Movie Maker program by going to the text box at the bottom of your Windows scree, beside the button where you shut the computer down, and type 'movie maker' into the box. Movie Maker lets you save a video in a variety of file sizes and resolutions.

Thank you sir. You mean MPEG4 is the core of the MP4 file right? What really matters is MPEG4 not MP4? And if you convert MPEG4 into MP3, which means there will only be audio ,and then the output is M4A?

MP4 does seem to belong to the MPEG-4 format, yes. I re-checked the file format that Windows Movie Maker can export an imported video in. It says 'MPEG-4 / H.264' as a single option, implying that it regards MPEG-4 and H.264 as being the same format.

If you converted an MPEG-4 into MP3, then the output would be MP3. To get an M4A, the program doing the output would have to have an option to save in M4A format.

Have you been able to fix your MP4 file with the tool? I recently got a similar issue with a corrupted video and looking for a solution to get the file working.
