How does realsense get time-stamp in frame meta-data?

Hi All

I have a question regarding the time-stamp in frame meta-data.

Camera : D345i

OS : Ubuntu 18.04 (Jetson Nano)

SDK Version : 2.17.0

I understand that there are four level of time stamps : SENSOR_TIMESTAMP, FRAME_TIMESTAMP, BACKEND_TIMESTAMP and TIME_OF_ARRIVAL.

I am working on project where I need to synchronize the GPS data with the D345i camera frames. I am looking into synchronizing system clock with GPS PPS output.

I am interested in getting SENSOR_TIMESTAMP data which shows the milli-seconds elapsed from unix epoch.

My question - Does the realsense synchronize its clock from the host clock and gives the time metadata? or does it have an internal RTC?

If you have any suggestion about solving this problem, I will be glad to hear it from you.

Regards

MV
